![]() ![]() ![]() I don't think any reader can ever forget a voice like Sue the dingo's - wise and obscene in equal measure. Compulsively readable and yet also pushing the boundaries of what is possible in terms of language and narrative, this is a brilliant and disturbing book that will make you rethink everything you thought you understood about non-human animal sentience and agency. ' - Justine Jordan * The Guardian * 'This is a game-changing, life-changing novel, the kind that comes along right when you need it, and compels you to listen to its terrifying poetry. The novel becomes both a stirring attempt to inhabit other consciousnesses and a wry demonstration of the limits of our own language and empathy. Her writing about people is filthy, fresh and funny this is prose on high alert, hackles up and teeth bared in every sentence. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() I love how god puts things in our path when we need it. I had reached a slump and needed this lesson. Sometimes that good is to be worked only in our own life. I chose to let God show me how he would work it to his good. Like Joseph I chose not to let my situation define me. The minute I started listening to the lyrics, stepping out of the way to let God take control, I felt relief. Then I opened one of the sites that makes book recommendations to me and there was Max's book. Then another friend mentioned several songs she had heard and told me to look at the lyrics because she thought of me when she heard it. I recently went through a trial in my life. However, he chose not to stay in those emotions. Those are all human emotions, and he was human. This doesn't mean that Joseph never got depressed, angry, or felt despair. He breaks the story down into major points and shows us how Joseph's attitude toward God and his faith is what got him through it all. Max Lucado took the story of Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers and shows us how Joseph kept hope during the most turbulent and trying times of his life. I read this book at a point where I truly needed it. ![]() ![]() ![]() She got a boost early on in her career when she won the Waldenbooks Best Selling award as the Best Debut Author of the year in 2000.
